From a very young age I had to learn how to sustain myself. For me, the notion of survival came easily. Ever since I could remember, I have used the observation of animals to learn the ways of our nature; and what a teacher they make.
I have devoted my life to become the best individual I can be for the paramount of not only our species, but all of the others that so graciously share this earth with us. I try and do my part of upholding the traditional and natural world that was created for us--as only someone with an old soul could.
My interest in taxidermy and the natural world began as soon as I stared into the eyes of our first dog, Jenny. Not only did I see the brown orbs of her lab irises, but the spirit that was hidden underneath. The yearning to learn as much about the different wild things that walk among us slowly bloomed into what it is now, and what it will forever remain. The animals I am honored to work with come from second hand sources, roadkill, my family's own harvested game and fellow artists, antique stores or from those taken for population control. Each individual animal is taken with proper tags and cites, and the laws for the state I reside in, in mind. This ensures that I can enjoy the creations I make, without mistaking my calculations for work that is not intentionally disrespectful.
I am not yet a licensed taxidermist, but I am going to school in Georgia in order to make that happen! :)
